Top Court Refurbishment starts July 16th for 4-5 weeks
Many members are aware that our top two porous acrylic courts have reached the end of their useful life – they have been down for 13 years now, but despite excellent patching up work by both Russ and Scott, they are finally wearing out.
A small team on the committee have worked very hard to identify and track down suitable replacement courts. Initially it was thought that this popular court surface was no longer available, but we have managed to find a company who can replace them like for like and take care of the associated groundworks to stop tree routes from the neighbouring close causing lumps and bumps in the court surface.
We will therefore be starting work on replacing the top two courts on Monday July 16th and the works are likely to take 4-5 weeks. During this time, we will have therefore have two less courts available, but this coincides with a quieter period at the club as people take off on summer holidays.
Please note that there will also be more limited car parking at the club during the week due to the need for the contractors to park their vehicles next to the courts.
