Bowls Open Days

OPEN DAYS have just been announced for WEDNESDAY 12TH APRIL (from 10am until 1pm) and EASTER SATURDAY 15TH APRIL (from 1pm till 4pm) at which all levels of bowler, from those who have never even held a bowl (let alone delivered one in earnest!) to “seasoned professionals,” will be most welcome. It is always a good idea to get good advice early on and our county coaches will be on hand to ensure that you get just that.

If you would like to come, simply turn up, and bring flat shoes. We will provide all that you will need. If your not sure then give us a ring. We will be only too happy to answer any queries you might have.

Bowls is the ideal sport for all ages. (In fact one of our most successful bowlers has just celebrated his 95th birthday!) Unlike golf, for example, it is very easy to enjoy and as a club member you will be able to visit the green, either on your own or with friends and colleagues, and have a ” roll up” – a practice session – for as long or short a time as you wish. Come early evening and enjoy the well earned hospitality of our clubhouse bar after your “exertions!”

The ideal club, superb green, excellent facilities, free guidance and tuition, very low introductory fees. We have men`s bowling, ladies` and mixed; competitive and friendly, against other clubs and our own competitions.

To give it a try, contact Peter Thomson 01727 864453 ( or Jane Dixon – 01727 812385, ( and we will arrange a convenient time for you to come along.

Alternatively why not come to the Club on Tuesday mornings for a friendly welcome at the men’s club, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon for the ladies’ and Monday evenings at 6pm for mixed bowling, All sessions will have experienced bowlers present, willing and able to help you make a start. Don’t worry, we have the correct size bowls for you- simply wear flat shoes – trainers or gym shoes are ideal, and loose clothing – we will do the rest!
